HRANA News Agency – Afif Naimi, a former director of the Baha’i community of Iran, was sent to medical furlough from Rajai Shahr prison and Shahin (Jafar) Eghdami, political prisoner, returned to this prison at the end of the seven-day furlough on July 2.

Afarin Chitsaz and Ehsan Mazandarani Released from Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Afarin Chitsaz, imprisoned journalist was released on the bail and Ehsan Mazandarani former editor of “Farhikhtegan Newspaper” was sent to a three-day-long furlough. At the same time, there are unconfirmed reports of granting furlough to Davood Asadi and Saman Safarzaiee.

HRANA News Agency – A new case has been opened against Hassan Rastgari, political prisoner in Central Prison of Urmia, following the warden’s complaint against him. He had a hearing in the Revolutionary Court in Urmia.

Kamran Jafari under Pressure in Urmia Prison

HRANA News Agency – Kamran Jafari, political prisoner in Urmia prison, is under pressure by security agencies to take action to cooperate through a televised interview. The prisoner has given ultimatum that if they continue the pressure then he will go on hunger strike.

A Report about the Situation of Pourmansouri Family

HRANA News Agency – Pourmansouri family were part of a group of 18 who were incidentally involved in hijacking an airplane without prior notice, the goal of which was simply getting rid of poverty, unemployment and economic problems after the Iran-Iraq war. After 16 years, these families still face the consequences and some of their children are still in prison including “Shahram Pourmansouri”, who was 16 years old at that time.

Saeed Sangar’s Sentence Reduced to 18 Years

HRANA News Agency – The life time imprisonment sentence for Saeed Sangar, political prisoner, was reduced to 18 years in the sixteenth year of his imprisonment in Urmia prison. Following the announcement and by considering the remaining two years and one month of his sentence, the date to release him would be July 26, 2018. Mr. Sangar has spent most of his imprisonment in exile in various prisons and in solitary confinement.
According to the announcement of Branch 4 of law enforcement office in Sananadj, the life time imprisonment sentence for Saeed Sangar, political prisoner, was reduced to 18 years in the sixteenth year of his imprisonment in Urmia prison. Mahmoud Masoumi Released from Great Prison of Tehran

HRANA News Agency – Mahmoud Masoumi, one of the protestors who was arrested in front of Dena Tire, was released from Great Prison of Tehran (Fashavieh), on the bail of 200 million IRR.

No Food for Prisoners who Don’t Fast in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – During Ramadan in different wards of Evin Prison, the stores were closed and two meals “Sehr and Iftar”, at a distance of more than seventeen hours, are served for prisoners. This method has created a lot of problems for non-Muslim prisoners, non-religious and the ill prisoners. Imposing restriction is while the prison food does not even have appropriate quality and nutritional value.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the prisoners’ population is a mixture of Muslim and non-Muslim or secular citizens, but food supply stores in Evin prison are closed from dawn until Iftar every day, the issue that has caused non-Muslim prisoners, the sick or those who desire to not fast face problems. Mohammad Abdollahi Ended his Hunger Strike after 32 Days

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Abdollahi, death row political prisoner in Central Prison of Urmia who was warned about the execution of his sentence and haf gone on an unlimited hunger strike to protest at the “unjust” verdict and the way of handling his case since May 29, 2016, ended his strike by official’s promise of enable the authorities to accept his retrial after 32 days on June 30 and was transferred to the ward from solitary confinement.

At Least 5 Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Different Prisons

HRANA News Agency – The hunger strike of 5 political prisoners, namely, Jafar Aimzadeh, Ehsan Mazandarani, Mohammad Abdullahi, Shahram Poormansouri and Ayoub Asadzadeh continues. The physical condition of some of them, including Ehsan Mazandarani, and Jafar Azimzadeh, is reported to be critical. Narges Mohammadi, is another prisoner who has started her hunger strike in protest to not being allowed to have contact with her children.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ehsan Mazandarani, Jafar Azimzadeh, Mohammad Abdollahi, Shahram Poormansouri, Ayoub Asadzadeh and Nargers Mohammadi are on hunger strike in Evin, Rajai Shahr, Uremia, Tabriz and Kashmar prisons, in protest to their situations.
