Tehran Prosecutor’s Reaction to HRANA’s Report about Nader Dastanpoor’s Death in Detention
HRANA News Agency – Abbas Jafari Dolat Abadi reacted in a meeting with the deputy prosecutor of Tehran to HRANA’s report about Nader Dastanpoor’s death caused by tortures during detention and lack of medical care. He emphasized the need for detention sensitivity of the supervisors and while confirming the death of Dastanpoor in detention of Narmak police station, announced that the detention of suspects in police stations is “contrary to the principles” and it is necessary and also short-term. He said: “After being arrested, the inmate must be delivered to the prison.”
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in ISNA’s report of July 11 about session of the deputies of General and Revolutionary Court of Tehran, Jafari Dolat Abadi pointed also to the necessity of monitoring supervisors of detention. Saeed Husseinzadeh Movahed Returned to Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Saeed Husseinzadeh Movahed, civil rights activist who was on medical furlough, was arrested and transferred to Evin prison on July 11 after showing up at Tehran Prosecutor’s office. He had gone there to to provide medical records to extend his furlough.

“We Are Waiting for the Permission to Review the Case”: Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Lawyer
HRANA News Agency – Mahmood Alizadeh, Mohammad Ali Taheri’s attorney said that he had heard that in a new lawsuit, insulting the profit was added to his charges but he did not have access to the case to review it. He said: “We are waiting to have access to the lawsuit by the revolutionary court to review it.”

A Prisoner Died in Rajaei Shahr Prison / Additional Information
HRANA News Agency – Mohsen Marzban died last Friday in Rajaei Shar prison’s clinic. According to other prisoners, Mr. Marzban committed suicide because of being harassed by the internal manager. His suicide was accompanied with negligence of prison authorities which resulted in his death.

Nader Dastanpour’s Family Denies Col. Mohammad Jalini’s Claims
HRANA News Agency – Col. Mohammad Jalini, Chief of Police Station 127 in Narmak, in response to the HRANA’s report on the death of a detained citizen as a result of being beaten in custody and lack of medical care during detention at this police station, claimed that the detainee was an “evil” and had fought with police forces. He also claimed that Mr. Dastanpour has had mental problems.
Dastanpour family reacted to these claims in an interview with HRANA and rejected the claims of Chief of Narmak Police Station and said: “The officers entered our house without a warrant and beat Nader and despite his serious condition, they did not care till he died in the detention. They took him to Chamran hospital without legal registration of his body. There are local witnesses’ statements and the record of contacts that had been done, in this regard.” Dastanpour family emphasized that they have registered a complaint for prosecution of those who have “murdered” their son.
