Head of Rajai Shahr Prison Calls for Expediting the Executions

HRANA News Agency – According to the documents that HRANA has obtained, Mohammad Mardani, head of Rajai Shahr prison, in the administrative correspondence related to the cases of several prisoners of death row, titled as “thugs”, has requested expedition of their execution.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), although the prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj had already reported multiple violations of their rights by Rajai Shahr prison authorities and in particular Mohammad Mardani, head of the prison, Daryoush Amirian director and his deputy Mirzaee, including beating and provoking bloody clashes, but to prove his offenses including working with the prison mafia, beatings and misusing the power is difficult and sometimes impossible for the Human rights Organization, due to restrictions. Ayatollah Nekounam Deprived of Medical Treatment in Qom Prison

HRANA News Agency – The physical condition of Ayatollah Nekounam in Saheli prison in Qom is unsuitable. Ayatollah Nekounam suffers from blood pressure and blood sugar with loss of vision while he is prohibited of accessing essential medicines in prison by the officials.

A Report on the Situation of Detained Christians

HRANA News Agency – After nearly three weeks, five detained Christians in Firoozkooh are held in Evin prison under detention. 17 Christians were present at the place where they were arrested (a personal garden), two of them were notified that they had been fired from their jobs after Intelligence Ministry officials visited their workplaces. Also according to the reports, two days after the raid of security forces, the garden which is a personal property, has been seized and security forces released abandoned animals of the garden and prevent the owner from entering it.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ramin Bet Tamers, Amin Afshar Naderi, Hadi Asgari, Mohamad Dehnavard and Amir Saman Dashti five detained Christians are held in Evin prison still. 24 Bahais Appeal Court Held in Golestan Province

HRANA News Agency – The court session of 24 Baha`is was held in Golestan province. Due to the high number of defendants, continuation of the session was adjourned until next week. These civilians have been sentenced to between 6 to 11 years in prison in the primary court. The previous session was cancelled due to suspicion of the court regarding its eligibility, on Wednesday July 13.

The List of Prisoners Charged with Muharebeh and Sentenced to More than 20 Years

HRANA News Agency – Prisoners who have been charged with Muharebeh according to the old Penal Code, would find the chance of a retrial, after the changes and may receive reduction in their sentences or be released. Currently there are at least 48 male prisoners in Iranian prisons on charges of Muharebeh, who have in different ways been sentenced to more than twenty years imprisonment (with the exception of life imprisonment sentences).
