12 Prisoners Executed in Karaj

HRANA News Agency – 12 drug offenders were hanged in Karaj central detention centre. These prisoners were among the ones who were transferred from Ghezelhesar prison to solitary confinements of this prison. Ahmad Shaheed, special rapporteur of UN on the human rights in Iran, had demanded the authorities to stop these executions.

Sahar Beheshti Arrested; Additional Information

HRANA News Agency – Following the arrest of Sahar Beheshti and her husband, on the occasion of his dead brother’s birthday (Sattar Beheshti) on August 26, Gohar Eshghi, Sattar’s mother and a group of civil rights activists went to the police station in Robat Karim where Mohammad Mozaffari one of the activists was arrested and interrogated and abandoned after half an hour in the wilderness surrounding area. Sahar Beheshti was questioned by the judge on duty in Parand court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on August 26, following the announcement of the birth ceremony of Sattar Beheshti, security forces surrounded his father’s house and prevented the attendants of entering the house. Also, Sahar Beheshti, sister of Sattar Beheshti and her husband, Mostafa Eslami have been arrested “while being beaten” and transferred to the police station in Robat Karim. Families of Executed Sunni Prisoners; Targets of Authorities’ Harassments

HRANA News Agency – After mass execution of at least 20 Sunni prisoners in Rajaei Shahr on August 1st, some of their family members were witnessed they are buried, now these families are stuck in a disturbing game and left in bewilderment. Some officials in Behsht-e-Zahra (cemetery) told these families who went to request for some service related to the graves that they were empty, and after these families tried to get some information from Rajaei Shahr prison, the authorities told that, “They were just transferred there; they are not dead that you are looking for their graves”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the families of executed Sunni prisoners of Rajaei Shahr became the victim of disturbing answers of authorities during their efforts to receive normal services by the cemetery. Written Warning of Attorney General of Golestan Province to the Media

HRANA News Agency – Attorney general of Golesatan province warned editors of news and social websites about “discriminatory and irresponsible” context and emphasized that if such case is being identified, these media will be banned and they will face the consequences.

2 Activists from Gachsaran Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Seyed Mohammad Miri and Ghasem Ghanbari, two political activists and resident of Dil village, a rural section of Ghachsaran city, who had been arrested by the intelligence service on Sunday July 31, were released on the bail. Hamid Bozorgzadeh, another activist who resides in this village has been summoned by the security authorities many times during this time.

The List of Male Prisoners with the Charge of Muharebeh and Life-Time Sentence

HRANA News Agency – Prisoners who have been charged with Muharebeh according to the old Penal Code, would find the chance of a retrial, after the changes and may receive reduction in their sentences or be released. Currently there are tens of prisoners who have been sentenced to life-time prison on charge of Muharebeh, at least 26 of whom are the men. The following list is the second list of prisoners with the charge of Muharebeh.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at least 26 male prisoners are sentenced to life-time prison on charge of Muharebeh in different prisons around the country. Due to the changes in the Islamic Penal Code in 2013, these prisoners may request for a retrial. Some might receive reduction in their sentences and some others who have served many years in prison may get released. Amanj Vaisi; Death Row Juvenile Offender in Marivan Prison

HRANA News Agency – Amanj Vaisi, juvenile offender who was arrested and sentenced to death on charge of murder when was 15, is still being held in prison in Marivan after 10 years in the shadow of death. He is not a child any more.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Amanj Vaisi was born on July 11, 1991. When was 15 years old, he was arrested because of murdering his cousin and was later sentenced to death. He has been living on death row for 10 years so far.
