A Filmmaker and 2 Musicians on the Verge of Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – The sentences of Hossain Rajabian, Iranian filmmaker Mehdi Rajabian and Yousef Emadi, two musicians have been transmitted to the executive branch, and they are on the verge of imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the sentences of Hossain Rajabia, Mehdi Rajabian and Yousef Emadi, three artists who were sentenced to three years in prison and 200 million IRR fine each, by branch number 54 of the appeal court have been transmitted to branch number one of the executive court. The Jury of Documentary Section of the Cannes Film Festival Called to Cancel Keyvan Karimi’s Sentence

HRANA News Agency – The jury of documentary section of the 61 th Cannes Film Festival called to cancel the sentence of Keyvan Karimi on its website in part of introducing the judges and documentary films which compete, attracting audience’s attention to the fate of the Iranian artist sentenced to imprisonment, lashing and a fine and called for continued international effort to cancel his sentence in an article entitled “Solidarity with Iranian filmmaker Keyvan Karimi”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), in the documentary section of the 61th Cannes Film Festival, 17 films nominated and award “Golden Eye” on May 21, 2016 will be awarded to the best documentary at the discretion of jury. 4 Civilians Sentenced to Imprisonment in Sanandaj

HRANA News Agency – On May 5, 2016, the hearing of 4 citizens from Qruchaee village in Kurdistan province was held in Sanandaj. During the hearing for four of the defendants a total of three years in prison was issued.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the hearing of Afshin Hussein Panahi, Poya Hussein Panahi, Arman Hussein Panahi, Salman Hussein Panahi and Poya Moghadam from Qruchaee village in Dehgollan was held in the revolutionary court of Sanandaj, on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Four of the defendants totally were sentenced to three years in this court and the other person’s verdict will be notified in the coming days. The Appeal Court of 4 Civil Rights Activists Will Be Held on July 5th.

HRANA News Agency – July 5, 2016 has been determined as the date of appeal hearing of four civil activist, Atena Daemi, Aso Rostami, Omid Alishenas, Ali Nouri, and also Mohammad Hossein Daemi, Atena Daemi’s father.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on May 5, 2016, the date of appeal hearing of four civil activist was determined and notified at branch 36 of the Tehran appeals court with the presence of Atena Daemi and Omid Alishenas, two of the case’s defendants. Mohammad Najafi’s Trial Postponed

HRANA News Agency – The court hearing of Mohammad Najafi, lawyer, was not held due to absence of the judge in the Branch 102 of the Criminal Justice Court in Shandiz, in the Markazi province. Mr. Najafi is charged with “disturbing the public opinion”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Najafi along with his lawyers, Mr. Payam Dorafshan and Arash Keikhosravi, showed up in Branch 102 of the Criminal Justice Court in Shandiz, in the Markazi province, to address the charge of “disturbing the public opinion”, however, because of the absence of the judge, the trial did not take place and the case was postponed indefinitely. Agents Raided Aso Rostami’s Work Place

HRANA News Agency – On March 15, three plainclothes officers went to the workplace of civil and children’s rights activist, Aso Rostami threatening the manager of the non-state training center, and closed his classes without any warrant.
An informed source told HRANA’s reporter: “on Sunday three plainclothes officers went to the workplace of Aso Rostami where is a private education center.  First by a very harsh tone they threatened to close his class but by his resistance they went to the manager and said if Rostami’s classes would continue in that place, he was going to pay for what he did.” Continue reading “Agents Raided Aso Rostami’s Work Place”

Mohsen Shoja Has to Introduce Himself to Evin Prison on March 16th.

HRANA News Agency – Mohsen Shoja, civil rights activist, and one of the arrestees during a sit-in in front of Evin prison, said that he had to introduce himself to Evin prison to endure his 91-day sentence, on 16th March.
In a conversation with the reporter of HRANA, Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran, Mohsen Shoja said: “About four months ago, I was arrested at a sit-in in front of Evin prison and in building number two of the judiciary, the Branch 1060, I was sentenced to 91 days imprisonment and 74 suspended lashes by Judge Farshid Dehghan on charge of “disturbing public order through turbulence”, and for my 91 days imprisonment sentence and suspended 74 lashes sentence, considering about 1 moth detention time, I have to present myself at Evin prison on 16th of this month”.
