HRANA- Reports describe an atmosphere of high security in Tehran’s Bazaar today as the strike spread to Tabriz’s Grand Bazaar.
In Tabriz, Bazaar Amir, the Jewelry Bazaar, Amir Kabir Bazaar, and Bazaar Noor are all on strike. Although the strike started in the preceding days within only certain sectors of the Bazaar it has now spread to include almost every store and business. The strike in Tehran’s Bazaar continues under a heavy security atmosphere. Additionally, there are unconfirmed reports that strikes have begun in Isfahan’s Bazaar.

HRANA- A Congressional briefing was held on June 6, 2010 discussing the human rights situation in Iran one year after post election protests began sponsored by the Democracy Council. Shaheen Sariri representing Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRA) addressed this briefing.
HRANA – Student activist Arash Sadeghi has been in solitary confinement in Ward 240 of Evin prison for over 60 days.
HRANA – Over the past few days a number of citizens have been arrested by security forces in Mahabad and charged with working with various anti-government parties.

HRANA News Agency – Prominent Iranian human rights lawyer, Mohammad Ali Dadkhah, was transferred to Ward 350 of Evin Prison in order to begin serving his 9 year prison sentence.
HRANA News Agency – On Thursday, September 29, 2011, twenty one Baha’i citizens were arrested in Esfahan and taken to an unknown location. Amongst the detainees, there was a 9 year old child.
HRANA News Agency reports that several scare tactics was put in place ahead of Bahman 25, February 14 demonstrations set by opposition leaders Mir Hossein Musavi and Mahdi Karrubi in solidarity with the people’s movements in Tunisia and Egypt.
