An Unpublished Sound Track of Farzad Kamangar

HRANA News Agency – Farzad Kamangar, a teacher and human rights activist who was executed in the morning of May 9, 2010 along with Ali Heidarian, Farhad Vakili, Shirin Alam Holi and Mehdi Eslamian in Evin prison, in his short life, due to his human concerns and by his formidable pen wrote open letters addressed to the Iranian society. Letters full of humane emotion, hope, resistance, peace and equality. The letter called; “Be strong Comrades” is one of his latest letters which was written by Farzad in May 2010. The letter was addressed to imprisoned teachers at that time. The sound track of the letter in which Farzad Kamangar reads this letter is being published for the first time, now:

A Prisoner’s Second Eye Will Be Gouged Out in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj

HRANA News Agency – Retaliation sentence of “blinding eyes with acid” of the second eye of Mojtaba Yasawoli (Saheli) will be executed in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj on May 17th. Blinding Mojtaba Saheli’s first eye was the first sentence for acid attack crime in Iran which was carried out in 2014. He has been given time to pay the blood money and the cost of treating victim of the acid attack, to avoid the second eye blinding sentence.

A Filmmaker and 2 Musicians on the Verge of Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – The sentences of Hossain Rajabian, Iranian filmmaker Mehdi Rajabian and Yousef Emadi, two musicians have been transmitted to the executive branch, and they are on the verge of imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the sentences of Hossain Rajabia, Mehdi Rajabian and Yousef Emadi, three artists who were sentenced to three years in prison and 200 million IRR fine each, by branch number 54 of the appeal court have been transmitted to branch number one of the executive court. Kaveh Sohrabzadeh Released after the Interrogations

HRANA News Agency – Kaveh Sohrabzadeh, brother of Afshin Sohrabzadeh, political prisoner suffering from cancer, who was arrested because of following his brother’s treatment process, was released after signing a commitment.

Arash Mokri on Hunger Strike in Urmia Intelligence Service since 33 Days ago

HRANA News Agency – Arash Mokri, graduate student at the University of Tabriz, who has been detained since 24th February. It is now more than two months that he has been transferred to Urmia Intelligence Service’s solitary confinement, and it is told that he has gone on hunger strike since 33 days ago, to protest against his situation.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Arash Mokri, son of Saeid, graduate student at Tabriz University, was arrested at his home and was taken to an unknown location by the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Office in Mahabad on 24th February, and his family was unaware of his whereabouts for a long time. 6 Somalian and Indian Prisoners Held in Zahedan Central Prison

HRANA News Agency – Three citizens of Somali and three citizens of India who were arrested in the dhow. According to them they were not even in the Iranian sea, however they have been sentenced to fines of 2700 million IRR and it is about 1 year and 6 months that they are kept in Zahedan prison with the problem of lack of familiarity with the language and laws and without communication with their families.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), six Somalian and Indian sailors were arrested by Iranian Coast Guard on charge of smuggling fuel and their dhow was fired during the arrest about 1 year and 6 months ago. The fate of six foreign sailors in Zahedan prison is still unknown. The Graves of 5 Political Prisoners Executed on May 9, 2010 Are still Unknown

HRANA News Agency – On May 9, 2010, Farzad Kamangar, teacher and human rights activist, along with four other political prisoners named Ali Heydarian, Shirin Alam Holi, Farhad Vakili and Mehdi Eslamian were executed after a flawed judicial process, secretly and without the knowledge of their lawyers and families at the parking of Evin prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the execution verdict of Farzad Kamangar and four other prisoners among the unprecedented wave of domestically and internationally protests, was carried out while according to the documents, their judicial process was full of specific cases of rights violation including detention in contravention of the law, the long-term maintenance in solitary confinement without access to a lawyer during detention, physical and psychological torture against them especially in the case of three of them in detention centers of Sanandaj and Kermanshah, as well as numerous procedural violations, so that at least three of the defendants (Farzad Kamangar, Farhad Vakili and Ali Heydarian) were known as “Muhareb” and the death sentence was issued a for them without their chance of defense in a seven-minute-long court. The Jury of Documentary Section of the Cannes Film Festival Called to Cancel Keyvan Karimi’s Sentence

HRANA News Agency – The jury of documentary section of the 61 th Cannes Film Festival called to cancel the sentence of Keyvan Karimi on its website in part of introducing the judges and documentary films which compete, attracting audience’s attention to the fate of the Iranian artist sentenced to imprisonment, lashing and a fine and called for continued international effort to cancel his sentence in an article entitled “Solidarity with Iranian filmmaker Keyvan Karimi”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), in the documentary section of the 61th Cannes Film Festival, 17 films nominated and award “Golden Eye” on May 21, 2016 will be awarded to the best documentary at the discretion of jury.
