All Correspondence from Women’s Ward of Evin Prison Prohibited

HRANA News Agency – According to a new order, all correspondence between prisoners in the women’s ward of Evin Prison and their families are prohibited. All prisoners’ furloughs have been canceled until further notice, too.

2 Sunni Prisoners’ Trial Postponed

HRANA News Agency – Taimor Naderizad and Farzad Shah Nazarijo, two Sunni prisoners in Rajaee Shahr prison in Karaj were sent to the court on May 31, 2016 but were returned to the prison due to the absence of the judge. The trial of the two Sunni prisoners was postponed for the third time in the past 6 months due to the same reason.

8 Sunni Civilians Arrested in Mahabad

HRANA News Agency – At least eight Sunni residents of Mahabad and Bukan were arrested by the security forces and were transferred to unknown locations. The common denominator of these detainees is their religious background and activities.
According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ali and Farooq Mavt, two brothers, Sunni activists were arrested in their home in Bukan on May 30, while being beaten by the security officers and were transferred to an unknown location. Saeed Malek Pour Serving the 8th Year in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – June 4 was Saeed Malek Pour’s birthday, imprisoned for alleged cybercrimes in Evin prison. The graduate of Sharif University of Technology as one of the prominent victims of cyber proselytizing activities of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards have served 320 days of his imprisonment in solitary confinement with torture and ill-treatment. Maryam Malek Pour, sister of the victim who has been sentenced to life imprisonment, says that Iranian authorities have not responded to any of the letters and requests of Saeed or his mother.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Saeed Malek Pour was arrested in 2008 in Tehran and was alleged by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s cyber army of managing the Persian pornography websites. Propaganda against the regime, blasphemy, insulting the Supreme Leader, insulting the president, relationship with the opposition groups and corruption on the earth, were other charges of Saeed Malek Pour, and he was sentenced to death and 7 and a half years imprisonment by Branch 28 of Islamic Revolutionary Court. This verdict was upheld in 2011 by the Supreme Court and was sent for execution on February 16, 2012, but it was later commuted to the life imprisonment by a degree of reduction. Political Prisoners Attend Barefoot the Prison Visits in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Political prisoners who wanted to meet their families, attended the hall with barefoot as a sign of protest, in the wake of the ongoing persecution of prison security officials to adopt disrespectful and uncommon manners of body searches of prisoners and their families as well as prohibition of the use of shoes by political prisoners. The protest of prisoners led to delays in weekly visits.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), as protest to the pressure and restrictions on political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison such disrespectful and uncommon manners of body searches of prisoners and their families and prohibition of the use of shoes in hall 12 and limiting the movement of political prisoners in this hall, the prisoners refused to wear slippers while going to meet their families on June 8. Ismail Afkhami Released from Central Prison of Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – Dr. Ismail Afkhami, one of the six Turkish (Azeri) activists, who had been detained in Ardabil about a month ago, was released on the bail from Tabriz Central Prison on June 8. Yones Rahimi, another detainee of this group had already been released a few days ago.

The Latest Status of 6 Detained Civil Rights Activists

HRANA News Agency – Approximately one month since 6 Turk (Azeri) activists have been arrested, Habib Sasanian has stated in a short phone call with his family that he was being kept in the intelligence centre. Dr. Esmail Afkhami, other detainee of this group has been transferred to central prison of Tabriz. But still there is no information about the fate of other 4.

Arash Sadeghi Transferred to Ward 8 of Evin Prison
