Two Sunni Converts May Face Death Penalty in Iran

HRANA News Agency – Two men from Iran’s Ahwazi Arab minority who were active in preaching Sunni beliefs after converting from Shi’ism to Sunni Islam have been charged with ‘causing corruption on earth’, a charge which carries a possible death penalty in Iran.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 23-year old Hossein Saboori and 25-year old Sami Zebady Alboghobesh, have also been charged with ‘having contact with foreign [Sunni] political organisations’ and ‘having Salafi beliefs’. Peyman Kashfi Released from Prison

HRANA News Agency – Peyman Kashfi Nejafabadi, a Baha’i prisoner of conscience from Tehran who has served a four-year sentence in Evin and Raja`i Shahr prisons, has been released at the end of his sentence.

5-year sentence of Hassan Momtazi confirmed

HRANA News Agency – Hassan Momtazi, on December 8, has heard via his lawyer that the review court has confirmed his five-year sentence for educational activities with the Bahai Open University (BIHE).

2 Christians arrested in Isfahan

HRANA News Agency – Two converted Christians, named Shahram Dinarooei and Mohammad Reza Vahedi, were arrested in Foolad Shahr, Isfahan.

Details of Erfane Halgheh followers arrest

HRANA News Agency – Public Relation Office for Basij Resistance Forces of Sepah in Kish confirmed the news about the arrest of 4 members of Interuniversalism Mysticism (Erfane Halgheh)  and announced  that they have been handed over to Kish  Judicial authorities for prosecution.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Public Relation office for Basij Resistance Forces of Sepah in Kish told IRNA about their activity in Kish Island: with efforts of Imam Sajad Sepah (IRCG) in Kish Island, 4 members of Interuniversalism Mysticism (Erfane Halgheh) have been arrested while holding a secret meeting  and they have been handed over to Judicial Authorities to be prosecuted. Detention and questioning of a Bahai girl in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – On December 4, unidentified individuals claiming to represent the “Basij” voluntary militia forced a 19-year-old Bahai girl, Ilka Mithaqi to get into a car, on a street in Tabriz, and took her for a ride around the streets lasting several hours, during which time they questioned her.

Bahai home and business searched in Rasht

HRANA News Agency – On the morning of November 17, one agent from the Ministry of Intelligence, accompanied by two staff members from the Revolutionary Court pretended that they were from the Post Office, to enter a Bahai home in Rasht.

Saeed Yasaee released from prison

HRANA News Agency – Saeed Yasaee, a follower of Interuniversalism Mysticisms (Erfane Halgheh) who has been in custody since 18 November  2014, temporarily released after depositing a 100,000,000 Tomans bail.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on Tuesday 18 November 2014, Saeed Yasaee was arrested by security forces while he was attempting to sit in a taxi to go home. Fardin Aghsani begins 3-year sentence

HRANA News Agency – Fardin Aghsani, a Bahai from Uremia who was taken prisoner during the Iran-Iraq war, and held in Iraq for two and a half years, reported to the central prison in Uremia on December 1st to begin serving a 3-year sentence.

Friday Prayer Leader in Rafsanjan proposes expelling all Bahais

HRANA News Agency – In a December 2 meeting with provincial officials, the Friday Prayer leader of Rafsanjan, Hojjat-al-Islam Abbas Ramadanipour said that there were a number of “sects” in the province, and because people were ignorant they were able to live and work among ordinary people, without being recognized.
