Fahimeh Isma’ili Released after Serving 12 Years

HRANA News Agency – Fahimeh Isma’ili, an Arab political activist, was released from jail after being imprisoned for 12 years. The husband of this political prisoner who was arrested at the same time was executed on charge of Moharebeh in 2006.

Atena Daemi Received Medical Treatment after a Long Delay

HRANA News Agency – Atena Daemi civic activist in Evin prison was eventually hospitalized and underwent a surgery in Tehran with a long delay after several cancellations of medical programs on October 8, 2017. The previous deportation was canceled by the authorities because of her refusal to close the bracelets and pendants in the surgery room.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), after a long period of misery at clinic of Evin Prison, Atena Daemi was able to be sent to the hospital and be under the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Evin Prison’s Clinic Refusing to Treat Atena Daemi

Herana News Agency – While social networks in recent days are reporting and following the status of Alireza Rajaie, a former political prisoner whose illness led to advanced cancer due to lack of attention from prison authorities, and in spite of the fact that the judiciary’s spokesman does not admit their responsibility for such deficiencies, Atena Daemi, for the similar reasons is suffering from simple kidney and gallbladder problems that began several months ago, which has the potential injuries for bile ducts due to retaliation by the head of Evin’s infirmary.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), in late May, at the end of the Atena Daemi’s hunger strike, a specialist physician at an out-of-prison clinic visited this prisoner and because of gallbladder problems, ordered her to be admitted to hospital. However, with the intervention of Evin Prison infirmary and “Abbas Khani”, head of the infirmary who accused Ms. Daemi of simulation, she was returned to the prison and did not get the necessary medical services. Mahmoud Masoumi and Elham Rasouli Sentenced to Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – According the verdict issued by Judge Moghiseh of Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, Mahmoud Masoumi and Elham Rasouli Baghi, two civil activists were respectively sentenced to 12 years and 1 year imprisonment due to attending the protest gatherings, contacts with the families of detained activists and insulting the leader.

The Latest List of the Prisoners in Women’s Ward of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – In women’s ward of Evin prison, there are many mothers who are imprisoned with political and security charges. They are being kept in an inappropriate condition and without having sufficient phone call time, and very limited visits. The condition of this ward resulted in spreading of women and different diseases among the prisoners.

Golrokh Ebrahimi Irai Must Serve Another 22 Months

HRANA News Agency – Golrokh Ebrahimi Irai, imprisoned human rights activist, is still in Evin prison as well as her husband, Arash Sadeghi. Mrs. Irai has been in prison since 2016 and after a while her imprisonment sentence was reduced from 60 months to 30 months.

Marjan Davari’s Case Sent to the Supreme Court

HRANA News Agency – The case of Marjan Davari, a researcher and translator imprisoned at Rey Penitentiary (Qarchak Women’s Prison), who has been sentenced to death by accusations including membership in the newly-formed Sufist movement of Eckankar, after her objection in recent couple of weeks has been referred to Branch 47 of the Supreme Court.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the case of Marjan Davari, a researcher and translator who has been sentenced to death, has been referred to the Supreme Court and is awaiting the appointment. Elderly Political Prisoner in Critical Health Condition in Women’s Ward of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Nooshin Dokht Mir Abdulbaqi, 64, prisoner in women’s ward of Evin prison, in addition to aging and suffering from several physical and mental diseases, has got developed Alzheimer’s and her intolerance of serving imprisonment has been certified by a doctor. She has been sentenced to 34 years and 9 months imprisonment. In addition to multiple charges of insulting the head and founder of Iranian regime, she has been accused of “demonizing women’s condition and life in Iran.”

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Noshin Dokht Mir Abdulbaqi, born in 1952, suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and schizophrenia. In the winter of 2014, she was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence and after about a month of interrogations and solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin Prison, she was transferred to the women’s ward of this prison on March 19, 2015. Sotudeh Fazeli in Undecided Situation in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Sotudeh Fazeli, 64, retired teacher and political prisoner, is serving in Evin prison while she is suffering from multiple diseases. She is a cancer survivor and finished the chemotherapy very recently, in addition to her medical problems and not having a fair trial, she has lost her mother during past weeks. Despite the death of her mother and norm of bureau of prisons, her request for a furlough even for few hours was rejected.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Sotudeh Fazeli is a 64-year-old prisoner who is being kept in women’s ward in Evin prison. She was arrested in 2011 by intelligence service and after 31 days in ward 209, was released temporarily in March 2011.

Sometimes later, she was summoned to the revolutionary court and tried by Abulghasem Salavati. Even though her 3 years of imprisonment on charge of acts against the national security was told her orally, but she never received any formal document.

Because the sentence is not officially announced, she could not appeal. This senior prisoner was arrested on June 9, 2016 and transferred to women’s ward in Evin prison, in order to serve her 3 years.

Sotudeh Fazeli is diagnosed with thalassemia, and very recently finished the chemotherapy sessions. In the current condition, proper medical treatment is not available for her. She is also suffering from high blood pressure, and eye disease.

During past week, her family requested a furlough so that she could attend her mother’s funeral which was rejected by the prosecutor and the prosecutor deputy, Mr. Haji Moradi.

Masoumeh Haj ABdulrahim Khabaz, Mrs. Fazeli’s mother had requested to see her daughter in the last days of her life, which was denied despite the efforts made by the family for the approval of the furlough and even consent of Mrs. Fazeli to be transferred with handcuffs and in escort, and only for few hours.

Need to be mentioned, Mrs. Fazeli’s brother, Seyed Shamsodin Fazeli was arrested in 1982 and after three years of being in an undecided condition executed in 1985, without noticing the family and when he was only 20, by fire squad.

Mrs. Fazeli had worked for 30 years as a teacher and principal in educational system and was retired recently.

Hot Water; A Constant Problem in Women’s Ward of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Cutting out the warm water in women’s ward of Evin prisoners has started since one month ago. This lack of access is while health facilities is in its minimum level and caused health and hygienic problems. Women in this ward also suffer from lack of access to warm and cooling system.
