Iran sentences Sunni Iraqi man to 33 years in prison

HRANA News Agency – Iran’s Supreme Court has confirmed a 33-year prison sentence for a Sunni Iraqi man on charges of ‘Moharabeh’ [enmity against God].

Another Bahai denied burial in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – The family of Narges Khatounbarqi, an 85-year old Bahai who died in her home on November 7, have been barred from burying her in the general cemetery in Tabriz, the ‘Valley of Mercy’ cemetery.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the family took Mrs. Khatounbarqi’s body to the cemetery on the day after her death, but the officials at the cemetery balked because she was a Bahai, saying she could only be buried there in accordance with Muslim rites. HRANA News Agency – Najeeb Raisi, the son of a Sunni scholar in Iran, was arrested by plain-clothed officers from the Iranian security forces on 5 November 2014, before being taken to an unknown location.

Sunni prisoner beaten severely at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj

HRANA News Agency – The family of Seddigh Mohammadi, a Sunni prisoner suffering from psychological illnesses awaiting execution in Iran, say they found bruising and evidence of beating on his body during a recent visit to the prison.
