Ten Inmates Executed in Zahedan Prison, One in Isfahan Prison

On Monday, June 6, 2022, ten inmates convicted of drug-related crimes were executed in Zahedan Prison., On Sunday, June 5, 2022, an inmate convicted of drug-related crimes was also executed in Isfahan Prison.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting the Baloch Activists Campaign, on Sunday, June 5, 2022, the execution of an inmate identified as Mehdi Sarhadi, age 36, a resident of Zahedan, was carried out in Isfahan Prison.

According to an informed source, “the prison officials told Sarhadi that he would be pardoned if he was able to memorize one of thirty parts of the Quran. However, he was executed. He had been sent to the gallows several times and brought back, as it is done in prisons at times.”

This execution has not been reported by official sources and media outlets inside Iran so far.

Haal Vsh News also reported that on Monday, June 6, ten inmates convicted of drug-related crimes were executed in Zahedan Prison. Earlier, Haal Vsh had reported that they were taken to solitary confinement to be executed.

The most recent report from the Statistics and Publication Center of the Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRA) states that between January 1 of 2021 and December 20 of 2021, at least 299 citizens, including four juvenile offenders, were executed. In addition, 85 citizens were sentenced to death in this period.

Two Inmates Executed in Damghan and Karaj Prisons

On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, two inmates who were convicted of drug-related crimes and murder were executed in Damghan Prison and the Central Prison of Karaj.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting the Baloch Activists Campaign, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, an inmate identified as Allah-Nazar Esmail-Zehi, age 33, a resident of Zahedan, was executed. 

His execution has not been reported by official sources and media outlets inside Iran so far.

Rokna News also reports the execution of a 25-year-old man in the Central Prison of Karaj on Tuesday.

This inmate was arrested three years ago was arrested for murder.

Two Inmates Executed in Zabol and Chabahar Prisons

On Saturday, May 28, 2022, one inmate who was convicted of drug-related crimes was executed in Zabol Prison. Also, another inmate convicted of murder was executed in Chabahar Prison.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on Saturday, May 28, 2022, two inmates were executed in Chabahar and Zabol Prisons.

Rasank News has identified the inmate who was executed in Zabol Prison as Nader Gorgij, a resident of the Zahak County of Sistan and Baluchestan Province. He had been convicted of drug-related crimes.

Also, Haal Vsh reports that an inmate identified as Hamidollah Sahrai, a resident of Sarbaz in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, was executed in Chabahar Prison. In 2020, he was arrested for murder.

 

At Least Ten Inmates Executed in Rajai-Shahr, Zahedan and Mashhad Prisons.

In recent days, at least ten inmates were executed in Rajai-Shahr, Zahedan and Mashhad Prisons.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on Wednesday, May 26, 2022, at least eight inmates were executed in Rajai-Shahr Prison.

Four of these prisoners were identified as Abbas Bitarafan, Ali Nosrati and Gholamhossein Zeynali from the ward known as Darol-Quran in Rajai-Shahr Prison. They were charged with “enmity against God” otherwise known as moharebeh. Iran Human Rights Organization has identified two other prisoners as Ali Montazeri and Vahid Mian-Abadi.

Additionally, Rasank News reported the execution of an inmate identified as Abdollah Barahooie in Zahedan Central Prison last Saturday. He was convicted of drug-related crimes.

Lastly, according to Rokna News, on May 22, an inmate identified as Elias Q, age 26, was executed in Mashhad Prison. On October 10, 2018, he hit a man with his car which led to his death. After a few hours, he turned himself in.

Female Inmate Executed in Qarchak Prison

On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, a female inmate who was convicted of murder was executed in Qarchak Prison in Varamin City.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, a female inmate identified as Ladan Molla-Saeedi was executed. She was taken to solitary confinement prior to the execution.

Molla-Saeedi had been taken to solitary confinement last month as well, but her execution was delayed after she received a moratorium from the victim’s family.

Three Inmates Executed in Minab and Shirvan Prisons

On Monday, May 23, 2022, the execution of two inmates who were convicted of drug-related crimes was carried out in Minab Prison. On May 22, 2022, an inmate who was convicted of murder was also executed in Shirvan Prison.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Rasank News, on Monday, May 23, 2022, two inmates identified as Mohammad Sorkhroo and Abbas Kamali were executed in Minab Prison in Hormozgan Province.

In 2017, the two inmates were arrested and convicted of drug-related crimes. . 

Baloch Activists Campaign reported that in Minab Prison in North Khorasan Province, another inmate identified as Mosaddeq Malahi was also executed.

Iran Human Rights Organization reported the execution of another inmate identified as Mohammad Morad Fazeli, age 37, in Shirvan Prison on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Five Inmates Executed in Different Prisons 

In recent days, five inmates were executed in Minab, Dastgerd, Adel-Abad, Zanjan and Central Karaj Prisons.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Iran Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, May 19, 2022, an inmate identified as Ahmad Gashul, 21, was executed in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.

In November of 2019, Gashul’s assistance in escaping two prisoners led to the death of a prison guard. 

On Wednesday, May 18, in Central Prison of Karaj, an inmate identified as Ayat Ghasemi Delfani was also executed for murder and drug-related crimes. 

According to an informed source, the murder case was about killing a fellow inmate in prison and drug-related crimes.

Additionally, Haal Vsh News reported the execution of an inmate identified as Abdolbari Rigi, 32, in Adel-Abad prison in Shiraz on May 22, 2022.

In 2019, Rigi was arrested for smuggling drugs and subsequently was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz. Reportedly, the prison officials did not inform his family about his execution in advance.

 Also, on May 23, 2022, Baloch Activists Campaign reported the execution of an inmate in Minab prison. The inmate, identified as Mosaddeq Malahi, was arrested in 2018 for drug-related crimes. This inmate was also executed without informing his family in advance and was denied the last family visitation.

These executions have not been reported by official sources and media outlets inside Iran so far.

Lastly, according to Rokna News, an inmate who was convicted of killing two park rangers last year was executed in Zanjan prison today.

Two Inmates Including a Juvenile Executed in Yazd and Birjand Prisons

On Sunday, May 15, 2022, the execution of a juvenile offender convicted of murder was carried out in Yazd Central Prison. Additionally, last Tuesday, in Birjand, an inmate who was convicted of drug-related crimes was executed.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, and Iran Human Rights Organization, on Sunday, May 15, 2022, Mehrab Salehi, age 20, was executed for murder in Yazd Central Prison. He was a minor at the time of committing the crime.

According to one of his relatives, Salehi was arrested for murder in January of 2020 when he was only 16 years old.

Salehi’s execution was delayed twice after receiving a moratorium from the victim’s family. The victim’s family had asked for one and a half billion tomans to spare his life, which he and his family could not afford.

In addition, the Baloch Activists Campaign reported the execution of an inmate identified as Qobad Narooie, a resident of Zabol, in Birjand Prison. Three years ago, he was arrested for drug-related crimes.

Inmate Executed in Khorramabad Prison, Looming Execution of Three Inmates in Amol Prison

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, an inmate who was convicted of murder was executed in Khorramabad Prison on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

The inmate has been identified by HRANA as Qobad Khoakarami, a retired teacher. He had previously been sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

Khoakarami’s execution has not been reported by official sources and media outlets inside Iran so far.

Additionally, in recent days, in Amol Prison, three inmates who were on death row were transferred to solitary confinement as a routine procedure for imminent execution.
