2 Prisoners Chained to the Door of Solitary Confinement in Orumieh Prison

HRANA News Agency – Omid Rahmani and Rasoul Shokri, two prisoners in Orumieh Prison with financial charges, were chained to the door of solitary confinement due to announcing hunger strike, as “a lesson for others prisoners”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Omid Rahmani and Rasoul Shokri, two prisoners with financial charges, who have been held in  Orumieh Prison, since 2011, were chained to the door of solitary confinement while they were handcuffed and shackled, for more than 48 hours by the prison authorities, following a hunger strike to protest against the lack of proper care towards their case, whilst based on the usual procedure they should have been transferred to the solitary confinement in prison. Agents Raided Aso Rostami’s Work Place

HRANA News Agency – On March 15, three plainclothes officers went to the workplace of civil and children’s rights activist, Aso Rostami threatening the manager of the non-state training center, and closed his classes without any warrant.
An informed source told HRANA’s reporter: “on Sunday three plainclothes officers went to the workplace of Aso Rostami where is a private education center.  First by a very harsh tone they threatened to close his class but by his resistance they went to the manager and said if Rostami’s classes would continue in that place, he was going to pay for what he did.” Continue reading “Agents Raided Aso Rostami’s Work Place”

Amnesty International Concerned about Saeed Hosseinzadeh’s Situation

HRANA News Agency – Amnesty International expressed concern about the hunger strike of Saeed Hosseinzadeh, children’s rights activist and prisoner of ward 7 of Evin prison and his critical condition in a statement.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the statement said: “Amnesty International is aware that Saeed Hossein Zadeh is suffering from different diseases such as heart disease, arthritis, digestive and respiratory problems, but “Sarollah” headquarters which was responsible for the investigation of his case, banned his medical furlough and threatened his life. Special Guards Raided Hall 12 of Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Special guards raided to the 4th ward of hall number 12 in Rajai Shahr prison and transferred several political prisoners to the other wards by force on Saturday, March 12.

Aliakbar Baghani Released from Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Aliakbar Baghani, imprisoned teacher and vice President of the Teachers Union was released on the bail from Rajaee Shahr prison on March 21, 2016. This trade unionist, by the end of the sentence, according to the public prosecutor of Tehran will be on a short term furlough on the bail until he will be sent to the exile to the city of Zabol.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Aliakbar Baghani, general secretary of the Iranian Teacher Union had been sentenced to one year imprisonment and 10 years in exile to Zabol city in relation to his case in 2010 on charge of propaganda against the state by branch 26 of the revolutionary court headed by Judge Pirabbasi and was released on the bail from Rajaee Shahr prison on March 21, 2016. Highest Number of Executions in Recent 10 Years in Iran: UN

HRANA News Agency – Ahmed Shaheed, the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, in his eleventh report to the UN human rights council, announced: “in 2015 Islamic republic of Iran have had the highest number of executions within the past 10 years.”

HRANA News Agency – Authorities do not agree with the medical furlough of Afshin Sohrabzadeh, exiled political prisoner in Minab prison who suffers from colon cancer and respiratory problems.

A Report about Abraham Firuzi, Imprisoned Christian

HRANA News Agency – Abraham Firuzi, a newly converted to Christianity, was sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of evangelism and held in Karaj prison. In the absence of transparency and official information, HRANA publishes the images of the verdict which the Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court issued unlawfully.

Hossein Ronaghi Maleki Transferred to the Medical Center

HRANA News Agency – Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, imprisoned in Evin prison was transferred from prison for an examination by an orthopaedist to the hospital and returned to prison after the examination on Wednesday 9 March.
