Heshmatullah Tabarzadi Sentenced to 6 Years Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court sentenced Heshmatullah Tabarzadi, political activist, to six years imprisonment for “gathering and colluding” and “propaganda against the regime”. The sentence was sent of Mr. Tabarzadi’s lawyer.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court, chaired by Judge Ahmadzadeh, sentenced Heshmatullah Tabarzadi, political activist to six years imprisonment. Mahmoud Masoumi and Elham Rasouli Sentenced to Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – According the verdict issued by Judge Moghiseh of Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, Mahmoud Masoumi and Elham Rasouli Baghi, two civil activists were respectively sentenced to 12 years and 1 year imprisonment due to attending the protest gatherings, contacts with the families of detained activists and insulting the leader.

Arash Shoa Sharq Sentenced to Lashes

HRANA News Agency – Arash Shoa Sharq, 24-year-old journalist, has been sentenced to lashes and imprisonment by Branch 107 of the Penal Court of the city of Rasht. Mr. Shoa Sharq, who has the responsibility of “Gilan Noo”, or “New Gilan”, was tried on the complaint made by “one of the deposed directors of the government”. This journalist had been previously sentenced to 40 lashes because of a complaint made by the MP of Rasht city, which was suspended by the Court of Appeals.  If this new sentence will be confirmed, the former sentences, including 40 lashes, will be applicable, too.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Arash Shoa Sharq has been sentenced to 75 lashes and 3 months suspended imprisonment, due to a complaint made by the former Director of Libraries of Gilan province and on charges of “spreading lies through” and “publication of photographs of the plaintiff in the website”, by the head of Branch 107 of the Criminal Court of Rasht city.  Continue reading “Arash Shoa Sharq Sentenced to Lashes”

A Lawyer Arrested on Charge of Insulting the Supreme Leader

HRANA News Agency – Danial Estakhr, a lawyer in Shiraz city, was arrested and sent to prison on charge on insulting the supreme leader. It is said that this charge is related to one of his writings about the mass executions of political prisoners in 1980s.

Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb Sentenced to Fines

HRANA News Agency – The 6 months of imprisonment sentence for propaganda against the regime charge, of Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, civil rights activist, was changed to fines in lieu of imprisonment in the appeal court.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), branch number 54 of appeal court of Tehran province, changed the 6 month imprisonment sentence of Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, to 20 million IRR fines in lieu of imprisonment. Police Beat Arrested Lawyer with Heart Problems

HRANA News Agency – Hossain Mehrandish, judiciary lawyer, was arrested following the order of the judge in branch number 29, while he was defending his client. He who had heart failure following the tension was transferred to the hospital while being in police custody. At least one of the police officers hit the chest of this lawyer for no obvious reason. This could have had deadly consequence for someone in this situation. Hossain Mehrandish is currently in Rajai Shahr prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hossain Mehrandish who was defending his client in Shahid Madany court, was arrested by the order of the judge in branch 29 with the allegation of insulting the judge. 6 Members of Erfan Halgheh Sued IRIB Over Publishing Disinformation

HRANA News Agency – Six members of Erfan Halgheh, attended the court of culture and media, and sued IRIB for broadcasting a documentary called “Ring of Satan” because of spreading lies.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), six members of Erfan Halgheh attended the fourth branch of the court of culture and the media, with their complaints under the title of; “spreading lies and disturbing public opinion by broadcasting a documentary, called; Halgheh Sheitan (Ring of Satan) and publishing materials including violating honour or dignity” against the IRIB. Mohammad Najafi Tried and Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Najafi, a registered lawyer who is active in human rights related lawsuits in Shazand town, had his court hearing about the allegation of propaganda against the regime, and was then released on the bail. Mr. Najafi has three other cases against him, the first one in the armed forces’ court, the second one in the prosecution office of the town and the third one in branch number two of Evin court.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mohammad Najafi, registered lawyer of judiciary, who is active in human rights related lawsuits, had his court hearing regarding the charge of propaganda against the regime in Shazand court in Markazi province, on march 4.
