Sohail Babadi’s Sentence Reduced in the Appeal Court

HRANA News Agency – Finally, after four years and six months since the arrest of Sohail Babadi, prisoner of conscience in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, Branch 36 of the Tehran Appeals Court acquitted him of the charge of “gathering and colluding” and reduced five years of his sentence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on August 23, by the verdict of the appeal court, Sohail Babadi, prisoner of conscience was acquitted of the charge of “assembly and collusion against the regime”. (more…)

Political Prisoners Express their Condolences to Abdulfattah Soltani

HRANA News Agency – A group of current and former political prisoners of Rajaei Shahr prison, who have served along with Abdulfattah Soltani, imprisoned lawyer, in a letter expressed their sorrow for the loss of his mother and thanked him for his continuous efforts for human rights.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), following the death of Abdulfattah Soltani’s mother, a group of political prisoners of Rajaei Shahr prison expressed their condolences and thanked him for accepting to be their attorney and also, his efforts for human rights. Sohail Babadi on Hunger Strike in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Sohail Babadi, prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison has started a hunger strike in protest to his transfer as punishment and not having his medicine and personal accessories.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Sohail Babadi started his hunger strike in protest to his transfer as a punishment to hall number 7 of section 3 in Rajaei Shahr prison and not having his personal accessories and medicine. (more…)

Political Prisoners Kept along with Death Row Prisoners in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Despite repeated claims of the prisons and security officials of addressing the principle of separation of prisoners on the base of their crimes in prisons, a large number of political or security prisoners have been exiled to Rajai Shahr prison where is the whereabouts of prisoners of violent crimes, a batch of prisoners who are kept separate from other political prisoners in the prison suffer more than the others. At least 20 prisoners in the prison are kept out of the dedicated place to political prisoners and with lots of problems.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the Department of Prisons claimed to address the principle of separation of prisoners on the base of their crimes in Iran’s prisons. According to the head of the Department, the country’s prisons have general classification, for example Rajai Shahr prison belongs to prisoners of violent crimes and Tehran prison belongs to prisoners on charge of theft crimes, also the Department claimed to address this principle inside the wards, too. The Last Session of Sohail Babadi’s Court Held by Judge Poorarab

HRANA News Agency – After 4 years, the last session of appeal court for Sohail Babadi, prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, was held by judge Poorarab.

A close source to this prisoner said in an interview with HRANA that after 4 years the appeal court’s session was held on April 12, and the verdict was expected to be announced the other week. (more…)

The List Of Over 80 Political Prisoners In Rajai Shahr Prison In Karaj

HRANA News Agency – The following list includes names, warrants and charges of more than 80 political prisoners, prisoners of conscience and security in Rajai Shahr prison which has been prepared by the reporters of HRANA.

A diverse range of prisoners charged with political, conscience, military and security allegations are being held in Rajai Shahr prison. Although many of these prisoners are kept in separate rooms in Hall 12 but a large number of these prisoners are being kept also between non-political, criminals and sometimes dangerous prisoners unlike the principle of separation of crimes. HRANA News Agency – Sohail Babadi, political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison suffers from kidney problems and prison authorities do not allows him to be sent to the hospital and get treatment.

Sohail Babadi In The 40th Months Of Detention

HRANA News Agency – Sohail Babadi, prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison, after more than 40 months of detention and preliminary court verdict, is still in an uncertain condition and waiting for the final decision, although he is suffering from physical problems.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Sohail Babadi, political prisoner, is still living in an indeterminate state while the decision of the Court of Appeal has not been communicated to him after more of 40 months under detention and he is deprived of medical care. Sohail Babadi Sentenced To Seven Years In Prison

HRANA News Agency – Sohail Babadi, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, who was sentenced to five years in prison on charge of blasphemy, recently has been sentenced to another seven years in prison, on charge of insulting the supreme leader, collusion and acts against the national security.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), branch number 28 of the revolutionary court with chief judge Moghiseh, sentenced him to seven years in prison, on charges of acts against the national security and insulting the supreme leader, on September 2. (more…)

7 political prisoners transferred to non-political prisoners’ sections

HRANA News Agency – 7 prisoners who have been transferred from Evin to Rajaei Shahr prison, has been distributed among ordinary wards of this prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Rasoul Abdullahi, Alireza Seyedian, Ibrahim Firuzi, Sohail Babadi, Ali Kazemzadeh, Ali Lavimi and Arash Moghadam, prisoners of ward number 350 of Evin prison were transferred to Rajaei Shahr prison on October 2. (more…)
