2 Prisoners Executed in Khorramabad

A Prisoner Executed in Qazvin Before the End of Due Process

HRANA News Agency – Nusratullah Khazayi was executed in January, while his family says his case was still pending in the prosecutor and his death sentence was not finalized. In follow-up after his execution, several judicial authorities in Tehran Prosecutor’s office told them that the prisoner should have not been executed. This case can be another example of the concern of opponents of the death penalty who have emphasized on its irreversible and irrevocable nature.

HRANA News Agency – Heiman Araminejad, juvenile offender who was held in Sanandaj prison, with forgiveness and consent of the next of kin at the gallows was saved from death. The people of Sanandaj put flowers on the victim’s grave in Behesht Mohammad cemetery in this city.

HRANA News Agency – The prisoners who have been convicted on charges of Muharebeh under the old law, have the possibility of a retrial, commutation of their sentences or being released, with regard to the changes on these kinds of charges in the IPC. At the moment, dozens of prisoners, including at least twenty-four male prisoners in Iran prisons have been sentenced to death on charge Muharebeh. The current below is the sixth list of the series of “Prisoners accused of Muharebeh” about these 24 imprisoned men.

According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), there are at least twenty four male death row prisoners who have been charged with Muharebeh, in different ways, are being held in Iran prisons. Human Rights organisations, earlier, had urged Iranian government to stop the execution of prisoners of drug related offences.
