Daneshpour Family: 7 Years of Imprisonment on Death Row

HRANA News Agency – Mohsen Daneshpoor and his son and Ahmad Daneshpoor, Motahereh Bahrami and Raihaneh Haj Ibrahim Dabagh, are members of a family who had been arrested along with their family friend, Hadi Ghaemi in 2009 and sentenced to death after a month. During the past 7 years that Mohsen and Ahmad Daneshpoor Moghadam are in prison, they have been diagnosed with many severe diseases like intestinal inflammation, IBS, and intestinal colitis. It is said that the medical commission has discussed their condition. Sometimes ago, Raihaneh Haj Ibrahim Dabagh was sent to furlough.

A Report on the Situation of Daneshpour Moghadam Family

HRANA News Agency – Mohsen and Ahmad Daneshpour Moghadam, father and son, along with Motahareh Bahrami and Reihaneh Haj Ebrahim Dabbagh, all members of a family, with Hadi Ghaemi, a family friend, were arrested in 2009 and sentenced to death. Despite the passage of years since the original conviction for Mohsen and Ahmad Daneshpour Moghaddam, and despite their objection, the judiciary refuses to make the final decision under the pretext of “the files are lost”. The physical condition of these two political prisoners, who are deprived of their rights because of remaining undecided, has been reported extremely poor.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohsen and Ahmad Daneshpour Moghaddam, father and son, political prisoners in ward 350 of Evin prison continue to live in uncertainty under the shadow of death for the 7th year. The List of Male Prisoners Charged with Muharebeh and Sentenced to between 15 to 20 Years in Prison

HRANA News Agency – According to the changes related to Muharebeh (waging war against god) in the New Islamic Penal Code, those who have been convicted of Muharebeh based on the previous penal code, will now have the possibility for a retrial, commutation and release. Currently tens of prisoners in Iranian prisons are convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons, this includes at least 37 male prisoners who are facing 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. The following is the fourth list published in regards to “Prisoners Convicted of Muharebeh” and is dedicated to these 37 male prisoners. The previously published lists in this series include “Women Convicted of Muharebeh”, “Male Prisoners Sentenced to life in prison”, and “Male Prisoners Sentenced to More than 20 Years in Prison.”

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), there are currently at least thirty-seven male prisoners in Iranian prisons who have been convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons and have been sentenced between 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. Since 2013, According to the changes in regards of Muharebeh in the new Islamic Penal Code, these prisoners could apply for retrial. Many of them could receive commutations and reach their release soon and considering the long prison terms of some of them, it could provide them the possibility of being release. Based on the new Penal Code, adopted in 2013, the charges of “Muharebeh (waging war against god)”, “Mofset-Fil-Arz (Sowing Corruption on earth)” and “Baghi (withdrawing from the obedience of the Islamic religious authority)” under Articles 279 to 288 have been redefined. A Report about the Latest Status of Daneshpour Family in Prison

HRANA News Agency – Mohsen Daneshpour, Motahareh Bahrami (parents), Ahmad Daneshpour and Reyhaneh Haj Ebrahim Dabagh (son and daughter in law) along with Hadi Ghaemi were arrested on  December 28, 2009 as the security forces raided their houses and on  January 16, 2010 were tried and sentenced to death within a month by judge Salavati court without a lawyer.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ahmad Daneshpur Moghadam born in 1970 and his wife, Reyhaneh Haj Ebrahim Dabagh born in 1981 and his parents Mohsen Daneshpour Moghadam born in 1944 and Motahareh Bahrami born in 1954 with Hadi Ghaemi, their family friend were arrested on December 28, 2009. The Names of 32 Prisoners who Have Been Charged with Muharebeh

HRANA News Agency – More than 70 political prisoners are kept in Rajaei Shahr and Evin prisons who have been charged with Muharebeh. Considering the recent changes in the penal code, they need to be re-tried. After a re-trial most of these prisoners are expected to be released. HRANA published the names of 32 prisoners of these two prisons who have been charged with Muharebeh.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), considering the fact that article 186 has been superseded, political prisoners with the charge of Muharebeh need to be re-tried. Therefore the names of 32 prisoners who are imprisoned in Evin and Rajaei Shahr prisons on this charge are being published by HRANA. (more…)

A Report on the Latest Status of Hadi Ghaemi

HRANA News Agency – The retrial of Hadi Ghaemi, elderly and sick prisoner of Evin prison who suffers from various diseases such as high blood pressure and prostate problems, is revieing in the Prosecutor’s office.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Hadi Ghaemi is one of detainees of 2009 who had been exiled to Gonbad Kavoos prison with a sentence of 15 years in prison but was transferred to Evin prison due to his age and for the treatment of various diseases last year. The New Islamic Penal Code Is Not Being Completely Enforced

Nasty life conditions in Gonbad-e Kavus Prison – Report

HRANA News Agnecy – Gonbad-e Kavus Prison is one of the prisons often used by State Prison, Security and Corrective Measures Organisations to banish political or non-political prisoners. At the moment, this prison is home to 5 political prisoners whom are kept under the worst living condition.

Ahmad Karimi deprived of telephone calls and prison visits

HRANA News Agency- Ahmad Karimi, political prisoner in Gonbad Kawoos prison, is deprived of calling or visiting his family and relatives and has been moved to the worst ward of this prison.

A political prisoner was taken to hospital

HRANA News Agency – Mohsen Daneshpour Moghaddam, the political prisoner in Evin prison has been taken to a hospital.


According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the 68 years old man who suffers from heart disease as well as osteoarthritis of the knee has been transferred to a hospital out of prison. (more…)
