HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Karimi, political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj who has been serving his 15-year imprisonment from nine years ago, was released on parole. Mr. Karimi who was arrested before the election in 2009, was tried in an “arranged” court, after the election and was stuck by the security institutions as a detainee of the post-election demonstrations, and even sentenced to death in the primary court.

New Radio Jammer Machines in Rajai Shahr Prison Put Prisoners’ Health at Risk
HRANA News Agency – With the installation of numerous devices of Mobile crushers (Radio Jammer machines), on the roof of Hall 12, the whereabouts of security-political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, some medical problems, including headaches and dizziness for these prisoners have been more intensive. This issue has caused a number of the prisoners to go to the prison infirmary, in recent days. Prison officials have said the aim of installing this device was to make problems for the illegal phones that might be used by the prisoners. This claim is while the inspection rules and strict controls are used over the political prisoners in the prison.

Ahmad Karimi Sent to Furlough after 8 Years
HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Karimi, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison of Karaj, who is serving his sentence of 15 years since 8 years ago, came to furlough for the first time. Mr. Karimi who had been arrested before elections and during a fabricated trial was illustrated as one of the arrestees of post-election events, had received death sentence in the primary court.

The List of Male Prisoners Charged with Muharebeh and Sentenced to between 15 to 20 Years in Prison
HRANA News Agency – According to the changes related to Muharebeh (waging war against god) in the New Islamic Penal Code, those who have been convicted of Muharebeh based on the previous penal code, will now have the possibility for a retrial, commutation and release. Currently tens of prisoners in Iranian prisons are convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons, this includes at least 37 male prisoners who are facing 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. The following is the fourth list published in regards to “Prisoners Convicted of Muharebeh” and is dedicated to these 37 male prisoners. The previously published lists in this series include “Women Convicted of Muharebeh”, “Male Prisoners Sentenced to life in prison”, and “Male Prisoners Sentenced to More than 20 Years in Prison.”
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), there are currently at least thirty-seven male prisoners in Iranian prisons who have been convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons and have been sentenced between 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. Since 2013, According to the changes in regards of Muharebeh in the new Islamic Penal Code, these prisoners could apply for retrial. Many of them could receive commutations and reach their release soon and considering the long prison terms of some of them, it could provide them the possibility of being release. Based on the new Penal Code, adopted in 2013, the charges of “Muharebeh (waging war against god)”, “Mofset-Fil-Arz (Sowing Corruption on earth)” and “Baghi (withdrawing from the obedience of the Islamic religious authority)” under Articles 279 to 288 have been redefined. The Names of 32 Prisoners who Have Been Charged with Muharebeh
HRANA News Agency – More than 70 political prisoners are kept in Rajaei Shahr and Evin prisons who have been charged with Muharebeh. Considering the recent changes in the penal code, they need to be re-tried. After a re-trial most of these prisoners are expected to be released. HRANA published the names of 32 prisoners of these two prisons who have been charged with Muharebeh.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), considering the fact that article 186 has been superseded, political prisoners with the charge of Muharebeh need to be re-tried. Therefore the names of 32 prisoners who are imprisoned in Evin and Rajaei Shahr prisons on this charge are being published by HRANA. Ahmad Karimi Beginning the 8th Year of Imprisonment
HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Karimi, political prisoner is about to start the eighth year of his imprisonment in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, while he has not had any furlough during this period of time. Mr. Karimi is in an uncertain situation waiting for the outcome of his appeal.

Political Prisoners Kept along with Death Row Prisoners in Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – Despite repeated claims of the prisons and security officials of addressing the principle of separation of prisoners on the base of their crimes in prisons, a large number of political or security prisoners have been exiled to Rajai Shahr prison where is the whereabouts of prisoners of violent crimes, a batch of prisoners who are kept separate from other political prisoners in the prison suffer more than the others. At least 20 prisoners in the prison are kept out of the dedicated place to political prisoners and with lots of problems.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the Department of Prisons claimed to address the principle of separation of prisoners on the base of their crimes in Iran’s prisons. According to the head of the Department, the country’s prisons have general classification, for example Rajai Shahr prison belongs to prisoners of violent crimes and Tehran prison belongs to prisoners on charge of theft crimes, also the Department claimed to address this principle inside the wards, too. HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Karimi, political prisoner, who has been in prison since 6 years ago and is now in exile in Gonbad Kawoos prison, is deprived of having leave or parole.
