At Least 12 Prisoners Executed in Iran Over Two Days

HRANA- Over the past two days, according to reports by HRANA, at least 12 prisoners have been executed in Iran’s prisons.

Tuesday, December 23:
According to HRANA, the death sentences of the following individuals were carried out on this day:

Saman Barzegar, convicted on drug-related charges, in Birjand Prison;
Karim Yousefi, convicted on drug-related charges, in Khaf Prison;
Ghanbar Farhadi, convicted of murder, in Ilam Prison;
Safarali Sadeghi, convicted of murder, in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz;
Nejat Yari, convicted of murder, in Bam Prison.

In addition, a prisoner with the surname Moshiri (first name unknown) was executed on drug-related charges in Kerman Prison.

Monday, December 22:
HRANA reported the execution of the following prisoners on this day:

Jamshid Nourmohammadi, on drug-related charges, in Kashan Prison;
Majid Ahmadi, convicted of murder, in Neyshabur Prison;
Iman Bakhshi, convicted of murder, in Saveh Prison;
Noorkhoda Moradi, convicted of murder, in Dorud Prison;
Aydin Nourzad, convicted of murder, in Gorgan Prison;
Abbas Omidi, on drug-related charges, in Zanjan Prison.

Additionally, Iran Human Rights Organization reported the execution of two Afghan citizens on Sunday, December 21, in Taybad Prison. Their identities have been confirmed as Morad Sheghnaei, 27, and Mohammad Babrian, 32.

As of the time of this report, these executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or the relevant institutions.

At Least Seven Prisoners Executed on December 16 Across Iranian Prisons

HRANA – Various prisons continue to witness an unprecedented wave of executions on charges related to murder and drug offenses. This report provides details of some of these executions carried out in recent days.

Today, Wednesday, December 17, a female prisoner named Razieh Abbasi, approximately 40 years old, was hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison. According to information received by HRANA, Ms. Abbasi had previously been arrested on charges of murdering her husband and was later sentenced to death by a criminal court.
This prisoner, who had been held in Qarchak Prison in Varamin, was recently transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj for the implementation of her execution sentence.

According to HRANA, on Tuesday, December 16, the death sentences of the following individuals were carried out:

• Mahmoud Din Mohammadi, on charges of murder, in Birjand Prison, South Khorasan province;
• Yazdan Mohammadzadeh, on charges of murder, in Bam Prison, Kerman province;
• Nejat Rajabi, on charges of murder, in Jiroft Prison, Kerman province;
• Keyhan Abbasi, on charges of murder, in Borazjan Prison, Bushehr province;
Ghobad (Qobad) Fathollahi, on charges of murder, in Ilam Prison;
• Ali Mohammad Roshanfekr, on charges of murder, in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz;
• Ata Shahsavari, on drug-related charges, in Khaf Prison, Razavi Khorasan province.

HRANA also reported that on Sunday, three prisoners were hanged on charges of murder in Yazd Prison. The identities of two of these prisoners, Jasem Seghaei and Khalegh Zolfaghari, have been confirmed by HRANA.

Additionally, a human rights organization reported the execution of a prisoner named Heydar Amiri, 32 years old, on charges of murder on Monday, December 15, in Sabzevar Prison. The organization also reported that on Sunday, Mohammad Rahimi, 50 years old, was executed on drug-related charges in Gorgan Prison.

From the beginning of this year until the end of November, 2025, the Iranian regime has executed 1,594 people, marking an unprecedented increase compared to previous years.

At Least 11 Executions Reported Across Iranian Prisons in One Day

HRANA – Amid the continued unprecedented rise in executions in Iranian prisons, at least eleven prisoners were executed in various prisons across Iran on Monday, December 15.

HRANA reported the following executions carried out on Monday, December 15:

Reza Shakouri, 50, on charges of murder in Lakan Prison in Rasht;
Bahman Hosseini, on charges of murder in Gorgan Prison;
(Known name unclear) Khorami, on charges of murder in Zanjan Prison;
Ghanbar Safari, on charges of murder in Dorud Prison;
Zahed Eslami, on charges of murder in Kashan Prison;
Mohammad Bamari, on charges related to drug-related offenses in Kerman Prison;
Amirhossein Rasouli, on charges of murder in Saveh Prison;
Maziar Falahati, on charges of murder in Neyshabur Prison.

In addition, the death sentences of three other prisoners were carried out in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. These prisoners had previously been arrested on charges related to drug offenses and were later sentenced to death by Revolutionary Courts. HRANA has identified one of them as Milad Sheikhi.

Also, on Sunday, December 14, a prisoner named Khalil Emkani was executed on charges related to drug offenses in Bandar Abbas Prison.

Furthermore, the Human Rights Organization reported that on Saturday, December 13, two prisoners, Hamideh Jabbari (female), 41, from Saveh, and Manouchehr Ramezani, 26, were executed in Qom Prison. Hamideh Jabbari had been arrested four years earlier on charges of murdering her husband, while Mr. Ramezani had been arrested four years ago following a group altercation on charges of murder.

According to the Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, December 10, two prisoners, Reza Abbasian, 46, and Khalil Fadaei, 28, were executed on murder charges in separate cases in Semnan Prison. On the same day, Salim Afrashteh, 33, was also executed in Dorud Prison on charges of murder.

As of the time of this report, these executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.

Kambiz Teimouri-Moghaddam, a Baha’i زitizen, Arrested

HRANA – Kambiz Teimouri-Moghaddam, a Baha’i citizen residing in Gorgan, has been arrested by security forces. Officers searched his home and confiscated several personal belongings. His place of business has also been sealed.

Based on information received by HRANA, the arrest of this Baha’i citizen took place yesterday morning at Mr. Teimouri-Moghaddam’s residence. During the search, agents confiscated a number of his personal items, including electronic devices, books, and documents, and they also sealed his business. The arrest occurred despite the fact that Mr. Teimouri-Moghaddam suffers from high blood pressure and requires medical care, which has heightened the concerns of his family and those close to him.

As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest, his place of detention, or the charges against him.

Kambiz Teimouri-Moghaddam is the son of Rouhollah Teimouri-Moghaddam and a Baha’i citizen residing in Gorgan.

Nirvana Torbati-Nejad Sentenced to 6 Months in Prison

HRANA – Nirvana Torbati-Nejad, a resident of Gorgan, has been sentenced to six months of custodial imprisonment by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in this city.

This verdict was issued on November 25 by Branch 1 of the Gorgan Revolutionary Court and was delivered yesterday to Ramazan Haji-Mashhadi, Ms. Torbati-Nejad’s defense attorney. According to the ruling, Ms. Torbati-Nejad has been sentenced to six months of custodial imprisonment on the charge of ‘propaganda against the regime.’

Some time earlier, this citizen had also been summoned by the IRGC Intelligence and interrogated for several hours.

In a separate case, this political defendant had previously been prosecuted on charges of ‘membership in groups opposed to the regime with the intent to disrupt national security,’ and ‘assembly and collusion to commit crimes against internal security.’ She had been sentenced by the court to ten months in prison and a two-million-toman fine. She was ultimately acquitted of the charges at the appeals stage.

Nirvana Torbati-Nejad was arrested by security forces at her workplace on September 10, 2023, and was released on October 5, 2023 on bail.

A Report on the Execution of 12 Prisoners in Various Prisons Across Iran

HRANA – The unprecedented wave of executions this week continues. In recent days, HRANA has documented the executions of dozens of prisoners in different prisons across the country. This latest report provides details on twelve of them.

Saturday, November 22
According to HRANA, a prisoner named Ghasem Sarlak was hanged in Aligudarz Prison. Mr. Sarlak had previously been arrested on a murder charge and later sentenced to death by the Criminal Court.

Sunday, November 23
On this day, Mehran Saghaei, convicted of murder, was executed in Dorud Prison, and Arsalan Behbahani, convicted on drug-related charges, was executed in Sabzevar Prison. HRANA also reported the execution of two prisoners in Kashan Prison on murder charges. HRANA has confirmed the identity of one of them: Ashkan Sohrabi.

In addition, the death sentences of two prisoners were carried out in Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz on drug-related charges. HRANA has confirmed the identity of one of them: Shahmorad Dehqani.

Tuesday, November 25
According to HRANA, Amin Chahar-Bashi, convicted of murder, was executed in Gorgan Prison, and Gholamali Eftekhari, convicted on drug-related charges, was executed in Neyshabur Prison.

Finally, three prisoners were also hanged in Yazd Prison. They had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. Further details, including identity confirmation, are still being investigated by HRANA.

As of the time of writing, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by prison officials or the responsible authorities.

Execution of 24 Prisoners in Various Prisons Across Iran in Recent Days

HRANA – Amid an unprecedented surge in executions in recent months, HRANA and Iran Human Rights have reported the execution of dozens of prisoners in multiple prisons across Iran in recent days.

According to HRANA, on Sunday, November 9, a prisoner named Allahkaram Nazari was executed on murder charges in Dezful Prison. On the same day, Dariush Amini in Ilam Prison and Seyed Mohammad Haeri in Saveh Prison were also executed on murder charges.
Iran Human Rights additionally reported that Hassan Hajizadeh, 30, from Semnan, was executed in Semnan Prison. Hajizadeh had been arrested a year earlier on charges of possessing three kilograms of narcotics and later sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

On Monday, November 10, HRANA reported the execution of Shahab Nazemi in Bojnourd Prison and two prisoners in Qazvin Prison, one of whom has been identified only as Shahriar, all on drug-related charges. On the same day, a prisoner identified as Ghasemi (first name unknown) was executed in Damghan Prison, Behzad Zeidi in Zanjan Prison, Noushad Mousavi on murder charges in Chabahar Prison, and Milad Nemati on murder charges in Jiroft Prison.
Iran Human Rights also reported the execution of Abdolrahman Mehrbani, 57, in Gorgan Prison, on murder charges. Mehrbani had been arrested about six years ago for murder during a dispute over farmland and was later sentenced to death.

On Tuesday, November 11, Shahin Saleh was executed in Birjand Prison on murder charges, Khodayar Joghtai in Sabzevar Prison (charges unknown), Omid Beqlani in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz, on murder charges, Mostafa Al-Khamis on murder charges in Bushehr Prison, Kaka Morad Panahi on drug-related charges in Kashmar Prison, and Arash Karimi on drug-related charges in Ardabil Prison.
Iran Human Rights also reported that Vahid Fazeli, 42, was executed in Lakan Prison, Rasht, on murder charges.

On Wednesday, November 12, HRANA reported the execution of Mehdi Moridi in Aligudarz Prison and Nezam Saeedi in Kerman Prison, both on murder charges.
Iran Human Rights also confirmed the execution of Saeed Mokhtari, 35, from Jahrom, and Shahrokh Mostafavi, 40, a father of one from Karaj, in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan, both on drug-related charges.

Finally, on Thursday, a prisoner named Ali Safa Niazi was executed in Shahrekord Prison on murder charges.

As of the time of this report, the executions of these prisoners have not yet been announced by prison officials or judicial authorities.

Farhad Fahandej, a Baha’i Citizen, Arrested in Gorgan

HRANA – On Wednesday, November 12, Farhad Fahandej, a Baha’i citizen residing in Gorgan, was arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location. At the same time, his home was searched by the agents.

According to HRANA, eight security officers carried out the arrest at Mr. Fahandej’s residence. During the search, several personal items, including his books and photographs, were confiscated.

A source close to the family confirmed the news to HRANA, stating: “The agents only showed Mr. Fahandej, who was home alone at the time, a warrant to search the house. Later, when his wife and children returned, they were threatened and interrogated by the agents.”

As of now, no information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his place of detention.

Farhad Fahandej, aged approximately 66, living in Gorgan, has previously faced arrest and judicial persecution due to his faith.

Drug-Related Charges: Two Prisoners Executed in Gorgan Prison

HRANA – On September 10, the death sentences of two prisoners previously convicted on drug-related charges were carried out in Gorgan Prison.

HRANA has confirmed the identities of those executed on Wednesday, September 10, as Behzad Parsa and Abdollah Mohseni.

A source familiar with the case told HRANA: “Behzad Parsa, a member of the Bakhtiari Lur ethnic group, was arrested in 2019 on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. Abdollah Mohseni, a resident of Gorgan, was arrested four years ago on similar charges and also sentenced to death.”

At the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been officially announced by prison authorities or judicial bodies.

According to HRANA’s report, in 2024, over 52 percent of executed prisoners had been convicted on drug-related charges. Over the past ten years, individuals convicted of drug trafficking have accounted for 40 percent of all executions. Unfortunately, HRANA’s statistics show no progress in reducing executions for drug-related offenses.
